The Last Whale, an expose of Japanese attempts to buy the vote of small countries in the Caribbean and South Pacific to block a proposal for a sanctuary for whales in the Antarctic.

Presented by Olivia Newton John, it was shown nationally by the Nine network in Australia and sold to Discovery and PBS in the USA, Weekend Television in England, French, Israeli, South African, Dutch, Czech and Mexico television.

The Last Whale was regarded as being important in influencing world public opinion in those countries where it was shown, impacting on the decision by the International Whaling Commission to establish the sanctuary for whales.
